Faculty and staff who advise students will soon see a change to the University of Michigan-Flint transcript analyses and transcripts. Effective with the Fall 2006 semester, all acceptable transfer credit for incoming students will be posted to the transcript analyses and the transcript. The TX notation that we currently use for some transfer credit will no longer be used.

This change will:

- Allow for easier advising - no need to explain the difference in the T and the TX in transfer credit.
- Assist students in understanding which courses can be used toward their requirements.
- Dispel the perception that students may have "lost" credits or that the University of Michigan-Flint "doesn't take all of their transfer credits."
- Help streamline the transfer equivalency process.
- Allow us to move forward with the implementation of the Curriculum, Advising and Program Planning module (CAPP).

Our hope is to convert the records of all of our current students in late summer 2006 and then allow the transfer module to handle all of the new incoming transfer students as of Fall 2006.

Questions about the change should be directed to Karen Arnould, Registrar, at karnould@umflint.edu or 2-3067. Thanks.
